We are delighted to confirm that two of our Schools for Kenya trustees are heading out to Kenya in October. Once again, they will be working alongside Born Free Foundation visiting both Olmoti (our primary school) and Lenkisem (our secondary school).

Due to several charity events and generous donations we now have a significant amount of money, around £25,000, which we would like to invest into both the primary school and the secondary school.

Whilst on their visit, the trustees will be looking at the best possible ways to invest this money.

The last time our trustees visited Kenya was in 2015. Following that visit they were delighted to be able to provide, infrastructure and improvements such as teacher’s houses, classrooms at Lenkisem and a new roof for one of the classrooms. They have also helped with the process of building and and a new dining hall and furniture at Olmoti.

We are aware that both of the schools would like libraries and computer equipment which we will look at in the near future. During their October visit they will be meeting with both the headmasters, governors and parents to discuss upcoming projects and ideas.

Both the trustees have said that they would, once again, like to take a few items out to both of the schools. In 2015, they took mirrors and stationery and are hoping to do the same again this year.  They are also hoping to be able to take some skipping ropes and frisbees out for the children and are currently thinking of other things that they would be able to take out to Kenya.
